Lynch Laundry

This laundry room is one of the most used rooms in our house. Not only do I do laundry in it quite often but it is the back door you might say. The only way into the house from the garage is thru this room. If I could have been involved with the design of this house I would have given it just a little bit more room to move around in.

I acquired my first washer & dryer when I married my husband 10 1/2 years ago - they just came with the marriage. This is just one of the great things about marrying a bachelor. A couple years later we had to replace the washing machine. It was a small basic machine and did the job well for a small family of 3 at the time.

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, the dryer went out and since it had been around 25 years or so (I think it was almost an antique or something), we opted to buy a new matching pair.

I had no idea how things had changed in the laundry department: makes, models, features, colors, gadgets, pedestals, you name it and I had to make a choice. So I went with whirlpool duet, front loaders, and a steam feature on my dryer! They are to be delivered next week and I can't wait to see what all they can do. I feel excited as a kid in a candy shop.

I currently am washing and hanging up everything to dry. This is not too bad of a thing but it would be nice to have a dryer to fluff the clothes a little. Also, you can only do a couple loads a day as you run out of room and hangers. I just spent a big portion of today ironing out wrinkles-from clothes-hanging & drying. So if I can hang on till next friday I should be in good shape!

  1. My washer and dryer are starting to act "weird". And they're only 11 1/2 yrs. old. Good job on getting yours to last as long as you did. Keep us posted on how you like the new set!
