Lynch Laundry

This laundry room is one of the most used rooms in our house. Not only do I do laundry in it quite often but it is the back door you might say. The only way into the house from the garage is thru this room. If I could have been involved with the design of this house I would have given it just a little bit more room to move around in.

I acquired my first washer & dryer when I married my husband 10 1/2 years ago - they just came with the marriage. This is just one of the great things about marrying a bachelor. A couple years later we had to replace the washing machine. It was a small basic machine and did the job well for a small family of 3 at the time.

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, the dryer went out and since it had been around 25 years or so (I think it was almost an antique or something), we opted to buy a new matching pair.

I had no idea how things had changed in the laundry department: makes, models, features, colors, gadgets, pedestals, you name it and I had to make a choice. So I went with whirlpool duet, front loaders, and a steam feature on my dryer! They are to be delivered next week and I can't wait to see what all they can do. I feel excited as a kid in a candy shop.

I currently am washing and hanging up everything to dry. This is not too bad of a thing but it would be nice to have a dryer to fluff the clothes a little. Also, you can only do a couple loads a day as you run out of room and hangers. I just spent a big portion of today ironing out wrinkles-from clothes-hanging & drying. So if I can hang on till next friday I should be in good shape!

Birthdays

Since this blog is a continuing story from our "xanga.com/polkadotalot" blog...I feel the need to catch up. I really got on here to post on my laundrey room but if you know me at all you would know I am a tad obsessive when it comes to organization and my posting has to fall in line with this as well.

Brooke's 8th birthday...
She was a 3 days before christmas surprise and so therefore her birthday is usually a quick celebration with family. This year was different. I decided we would work in a real party with friends and gifts and such things. Thanks to Aunt Morgan for making the "cake" and for helping out with craft time.

Brooke enjoys her friends so much and it was fun to have most of them make it to the party. She loves anything to do with crafts and cooking so we did glass bead necklaces and mini cheeseburgers. (recipe: vanilla wafers, chocolate covered mint cookies, icing for mayo/mustard, green tinted coconut-just in case your were grossing out at cheeseburgers :)) Thanks Mom for letting us use your house for the party.

Ryan's 5th Birthday...
Just a week into the new year and we are celebrating again and this time its Ryan's turn. Its really starting to sink in that with turning 5 changes are coming. School is a big one that we talking about around here. We've been talking about why we go to school, and how it will be his school too not just Brooke's school. Its the beginning of a new chapter in his life and I am really excited for him. I know school is not starting for him for another 7 months but its really not that far away on the grand scale of things.

Happy Birthday Ryan!

We missed you...Dave, Kate, Cohen & Titus!

Yes, even Madeline Kate was here and it was nice of her to be "awake" for part of the time! We seem to miss her awake times. She must like a good party!

Now Lindsay has been saying "its my birthday"... how do you explain to a 2 1/2 year old its not till summer time?

Looking Ahead

Its come and gone now...the year 2008.

Its like a lot of things in life, you wouldn't want to go back and relive it but it was well worth the journey.

And so we welcome in 2009! This year will bring some changes...some big and some little, some expected and some unexpected.

And since I am not really big on new years resolutions I am thinking more of a new years prayer. A prayer for peace and complete trust in our God who is able. Able to carry me through and deliver a far more perfect plan than I can ever hope to achieve on my own.

Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (21) unto him be the glory...

Happy New Years from our family!

She has arrived

Madeline Kate Boone 12-20-08

She arrived in perfect timing and she is beautiful. Memories flood over you as your holding her...memories of my newborns. The ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes, the way the mouth moves and utters little noises, and then the eyes open and you fall in love all over again. There is nothing quite like it. A new baby just has a way of doing that to you.

The girls are thrilled about a new "girl" cousin.

He thinks shes pretty special too!
